from historyteller Charles:
"A respected physician and basement crime author, Arthur Conan Doyle changed the way we look at fiction in 1887 with the debut of his most famous creation, Sherlock Holmes. Four books and fifty-six short stories were created about this master detective and his sidekick, Dr. Watson. But who is Doyle and what influenced this writer as he created one of the most iconic characters in literature?
Doyle’s life, writings, and beliefs will be explored as we spend the afternoon discussing the man behind the mythos. Beyond Holmes, we’ll delve into the author’s experiences with the paranormal, his search for the answers to life after death, and how this quest led to the end of one of his greatest friendships.
And yes….there will be faeries."
